Leakesville woman killed in fatal crash on Rocky Creek Road
An elderly Leakesville woman is dead and a truck driver injured after a wreck in George County Wednesday afternoon.
State troopers said 81-year-old Nora Janes attempted to cross old Highway 63 on Rocky Creek Road when an 18-wheeler slammed into her drivers side. Janes died instantly, officials said.
Mississippi highway patrol spokesperson Johhny Poulos said, the driver of the truck, Troy Sutton of Thomasville, Alabama had only minor injuries.
The accident is under investigation.
